Acceptance
By creating an account, publishing a site, or using the nauta command-line tool, you agree to these terms and to the Acceptable Use Policy and Privacy Policy, which form part of this agreement.
If you do not agree, do not use the service. If you use Nautacloud on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for it.
Who may use Nautacloud
You must be at least 13 years old to hold an account. If the law where you live sets a higher minimum age for consenting to online services on your own, that age applies to you instead.
You must be able to enter into a binding agreement, and you must not be barred from using the service under any applicable law.
What the service is
Nautacloud provides static website hosting. You may publish HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, fonts and similar static assets, served over HTTPS from a subdomain of nautacloud.net.
The service does not run server-side code on your behalf, and does not provide databases or mail delivery. Sites are served from a *.nautacloud.net subdomain, and you can also connect a domain you own.
Your account
You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, including anything done with a personal access token issued for the command-line tool.
- Keep your credentials and access tokens secret. A token grants the same publishing rights as your password.
- Enable two-factor authentication if you can. It is available in your dashboard.
- Tell us promptly at santanarobainaa@gmail.com if you believe your account has been accessed by someone else.
- Do not share, sell or transfer your account.
One person or organisation may not create multiple accounts to obtain more capacity than the published limits allow.
Your content
You keep all rights to what you publish. Nautacloud claims no ownership over your files.
You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, transmit, cache and publicly serve your content — but only as far as is necessary to operate the service and deliver your site to visitors. The licence exists so that hosting is lawful; it ends when you delete the content or your account.
You are solely responsible for your content, and you confirm that you have the rights to publish it and that doing so breaks no law and infringes nobody else's rights.
Acceptable use
The Acceptable Use Policy lists what may not be published or done with the service, how to report abuse, and how copyright complaints are handled. Breaching it is a breach of these terms.
Limits and fair use
Capacity is capped per account so the service can stay free for everyone. The current limits are:
| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Sites per account | 3 |
| Size of a single upload | 50 MiB |
| Total storage per account | 150 MiB |
| Previous releases kept per site | 3 |
Rate limits also apply to site creation, uploads and rollbacks. We may change these limits, and may apply additional technical restrictions to protect the service from abuse or unexpected cost.
Nautacloud is meant for publishing websites. Using it as general file storage, as a content-delivery network for assets embedded on sites hosted elsewhere, or to move large volumes of traffic unrelated to a hosted site, is not fair use.
Availability and changes to the service
There is no service level agreement. We do not promise any level of uptime, performance, durability or support response.
We may add, change, suspend or remove features at any time, and may discontinue the service entirely. If we discontinue it, we will make a reasonable effort to give advance notice so you can retrieve your content, but we cannot guarantee notice in every circumstance.
Keep your own copy of anything you publish. Nautacloud is not a backup service, and you should never rely on it as the only place your files exist.
Suspension and termination
You may delete your sites or your entire account at any time from the dashboard.
We may suspend or terminate an account, or take down a site, if:
- it breaches these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy;
- it puts the service, its infrastructure or other users at risk;
- it generates cost or load that threatens the service's ability to remain free;
- we are required to do so by law or by our own infrastructure provider; or
- the account has been inactive for an extended period.
Where the breach is serious — for example malware, phishing or illegal content — we may act immediately and without notice. Otherwise we will normally warn you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.
After termination, your sites stop being served and your content is deleted. Deletion is not instant and copies may persist briefly in backups, logs or caches before they expire.
Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that content you publish will not be lost or corrupted.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Nautacloud and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, nor for any loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data or content, however caused and under any theory of liability, even if we have been advised that such damages are possible.
Because the service is provided free of charge, our total aggregate liability to you for all claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you have paid for it — which is zero — or US$50.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Nautacloud and its operator against any claim, demand, loss, liability or expense — including reasonable legal fees — arising out of the content you publish, your use of the service, or your breach of these terms or of the rights of a third party.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The effective date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. For material changes we will make a reasonable effort to notify account holders in advance, for example by email or a notice in the dashboard.
Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept them, delete your account.
